Take 5 Freeway to Jamboree North, enter Irvine Regional

Park, turn immediate left, follow signs to The Ranch on left.

Visit with experts in Alternative Energy, Environmental Science and Culinary Arts and learn new job skills and Explore possible career opportunities in these areas.  Take a tour and visit the Ranch Camp, Mining Camp and the Astronomy Camp.

Workability is a transitional program for special needs students, who have which enables them to make the transition from school to work.  Schools have teachers, job developers instructional aids and other professionals who work with these students.  As Rotarians, many volunteers are Rotarians who can spend a morning or two with the students running team building, problem solving and fun activities.   Students look forward to attending events and are very grateful to those who have volunteered to help.

The Workability Program continues to benefit from support from many Rotary Clubs throughout District 5320.  Many Rotarians have been out to Field Days to help run events.  Recently, one club took their support to the next level by donating $600 to pay for students from San Clemente High School to attend one of these events.  Without the financial support of the San Clemente Sunrise Rotary Club, these students would not have been able to attend.

With the funding issues many school programs are having, it is the generosity of service organizations and other donors enable students with special needs to continue to attend these life enriching events.  As your club plans it’s budget for the coming year, please consider supporting your local school’s Workability Program or spend a day out a camp with the kids.  For more information, please contact Lane Calvert at 714-546-8558 Ext. 181.
